Peach Fuzz
I see more women shaving their faces, but I’m worried. Won’t shaving make my peach fuzz grow back thicker or darker? — Brenda
Brenda, have no fear. This is a common misconception. A woman’s facial hair rarely gets darker or thicker after shaving. But for more benefits, consider dermaplaning instead of just shaving. Dermaplaning eliminates a woman’s facial peach fuzz and removes dead skin cells, smooths the skin, minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles, and even lightens discolorations.
Aestheticians and dermatologists do dermaplaning. DERMAFLASH makes an effective at-home do-it-yourself device that is easy to use and minimizes the risk of cutting your skin. This video in our Product Highlights shows you how to use it!
Moisturizer
I have oily skin, so I don’t use moisturizer. What can I do to combat the oil?–Holly
Okay, Holly, let me stop you right there—Always use moisturizer, even if you have oily skin. Your skin could be amping up oil production because it feels dehydrated. Our bodies crave moisture, so give your skin what it wants! Add a moisturizer made for oily skin to your daily cleansing routine. And, it may sound crazy, but using face oil can be very beneficial in combating the overproduction of oil. Check out this product highlight to learn about one of my favorite face oils.
Curly Hair
I have curly hair, can I still have bangs? –Jeanie
Yes, Jeanie, YES you can! However, it is definitely going to be more of a commitment to make them work–especially if you don’t get a length and shape that works great when it’s in its natural curly state. If you’re wanting to do more of the traditional fringe that is really in style right now–you may find that you need to wet, blow-dry and then style them with a curling iron or flat iron to get that desired look.
Brow Spell Works Like Magic
Like many of you, I have a love/hate relationship with my eyebrows. Sometimes they are on their best behavior, full and expressive. Other times, not so much.
I have never been an over-tweezer. They are just a bit too thin and sparse. I have tried pencils, pens, powders, and markers. There is nothing quite like natural hair. Yes, I have considered microblading, but I’m not ready for that sort of commitment. So, what’s a girl to do to get the thick, fluffy Frida Kahlo brows of her dreams?
While usually skeptical about spending my hard-earned money on serums and other products that promise “greatest” or “miracle” anything, something about Brow Spell enticed me. I purchased Brow Spell and applied it morning and evening for six weeks hoping there would be more to this potion than marketing hocus-pocus.
This is how my brow-enhancing journey unfolded:
Week 2 — For the first time in years, I looked in the mirror and thought, “omg, I need to clean up my brows!”. They were growing and getting fuller. I stared in the mirror at almost-bushy caterpillars! I fought the temptation to clean them up and let them be. At that moment, it turned into a game of “just how bushy will they get”! It was looking like Brow Spell could be the real deal.
Week 4 — I caved. I had to clean them up a bit. They were getting a little wild but in all the right ways! I had not seen brows like this on myself in years, and I adored every bushy hair.
Week 6 and Final Thoughts — Brow Spell is no illusion.
Nearly every gap I had in my eyebrows filled in. The length, the fullness, the color, everything was a sight of beauty. This is the only brow-enhancing product I can 100% say I saw actual (MAJOR) results with.
As I said initially, I am a big skeptic of products promising to magically improve imperfections. This special serum, however, does what it says. You can buy it and its sister product, Lash Spell, at the veryTerribeauty.com boutique in the “Affiliates” tab.
